Really nice antique 4 drawer Maple wood library card catalog has great looks to be hand done dovetailing. The cabinet is 9 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/2 ... more inches wide and 17 inches deep and weighs 27 pds. The drawers hold 3 x 5 cards. In good condition other than the rods that go in the bottom of the drawers are gone in the drawers but that makes it nice that the standard 3 x 5 card will fit it and there are some scratches. Tape residue, few small hairlines on the top, rubs, stains, average wear for its age. Did not find a manufacturers' name on this but in one of the drawers were some numbers as you can see in picture 8. These cabinets are good for a lot of things and look great. Vintage Oak 2 Drawer Index File Cabinet Globe Wernicke Model W-35-A No Reserve This is an oak Globe Wernicke two drawer index file. Model W-35-A. It measures about 14" by 16.5" by 5.5" tall. This is a great piece that was made by Yawman and Erbe(Y and E) in Rochester. New York. The drawers open by pushing down on the small metal knobs. There are steel back supports inside the cabinets that can be adjusted by clamping down at the top. The print on the top reads"Yawman& Erbe Mfg Co, Rochester NY" These come with plastic as well as card stock card guides. There is also two boxes of celluloided card guides. We have this nice Tiger Oak Library Index File for sale. It is a very solid piece- drawers open and close as they should. The drawers and case are all made with dovetail design- no cracking in any of the wood. The cabinet has not been restored but has a nice patina to it. Tucker File Box Antique quarter sawn oak desk top file. Features larger than normal 5" x 8" drawers. Has never been stripped and has it's original brass label. Could stand to be glued in a couple places along the bottom edge but is solid and stable just like it is. The finish has extreme wear and spots of paint as well as water& oil stains. Antique Globe Tiger Oak 2-Drawer Card File Cabinet. Circa 1900. This is a fine and early 2-drawer file cabinet, made by Globe(later Globe Wernicke) c. 1900. The piece is made of solid tiger oak, and is in good condition. It is complete, with the two original sliders in the drawer. There is minor separation at some of the seams as well as holes in the bottom of the cabinet. Recently refinished: the Globe stamp has been sanded off, but it is 100% authentic. St eel inside drawers and a metal tag with a serial number on it from the company that owned it 14" wide x 16 1/2" deep x 5 1/2" tall overall.

I like to sell quartered quartersawn oak office furniture. Besides being functional. There are an endless variety of forms. Not sure of the manufacturer of this file cabinet-could be Globe, Erbe or Macey but no matter. It is very unusual with four doors which hide 36 drawers on the interior. Additionally, there are two standard size file drawers. This is a stack model with raised panels on the doors and full panels on the sides. The small drawers have original label pulls and have an interior size of 4 wide, 9.5 deep, and 3.5 high. The two bottom file drawers have the original wood followers to hold the paper and measure 12 wide, 24 deep, and 10 high. This is an antique oak card catalog. Made around 1930S. It was made by the company"GLOBE" globe label and brass name plates and has the original brass tag and drawer pulls. It is in good original condition and drawers work as should. Both card supports are still present in the drawers and work well. This card file holds 3" by 5" index cards. This is a really well made file, with good construction all around. Please look at the photos. The finish is darker than the photos. The outside dimensions are 7 1/2" inches wide by 17" inches deep by 9 1/2" inches tall, so this is the great size to sit on a desk or kitchen counter top.

This is an antique 2-drawer oak file cabinet for 3"x 5" index cards. A really cool feature is the lower left front is stamped"Patented June 16. 1891 and Dec. 10, 1895" There is a white tag on the center front that says"H. H. West Co. Milwaukee" I believe the finish is original. There are some stains on the topside but they actually don't detract from the overall appearance of the file cabinet. The brass hardware is complete and original. This must have been a quality piece as even the insides of the drawers are nicely finished. The drawer interiors are complete with all the hardware also. The oak"push-up" pieces for moving the cards forward and back are working but slide a bit hard. The cabinet case measures 13.25" wide. 14.25" deep, and 5.75" high. This auction is for an old oak 2 drawer 3 X 5 index card file. It is made by COLE STEEL EQUIPMENT CO. NY. USA. It measures 18" long, 14" wide and 6" high. There is a tight split in the top of the cabinet which is still secure. There is a few stains on the finish. The drawers slide smoothly. One metal frame rail on the bottom of the drawer, probably part of a system used to compress the index cards when the drawer in not full, is missing. Ple ase see photo's and email with any questions. Vintage library card desktop wood file cabinet with two drawers. The file is structurally solid(I believe maple wood) with dovetail planes on the bottom and on the drawers The bottoms of the drawers have cardboard inside but the split wood is underneath and is in fine shape. Needs either cleaned up. Or refinished and it would look Fantastic. Would be a great shabby style for maybe- silverware drawers- many possibilities.
